News Release: A Bold Step Forward in Addressing Canada’s Housing Crisis

Regina, February 9th, 2024 – Today marks a pivotal moment in Regina’s journey toward the pressing issue of the housing crisis in Canada. The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, has announced a substantial investment of $35.2 million from the Housing Accelerator Fund.

The collaboration between the City of Regina and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) exemplifies a proactive approach to alleviating the strain of the National Housing Crisis.

We are proud to be part of a city working to put its residents first.

This funding will empower Regina to implement initiatives to increase the housing supply and create further community development.

As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize the dedication and perseverance of all those involved. At Avana, we believe a safe, quality place to call home changes lives.
